The house is over 100
years old, and as the
Cibiks updated the space
for their students, they
wanted to keep it's
charm and farm style.
With
four bedrooms (three with queen beds, and one
with two twin beds), a
shared powder room, and
shared full bath, there
is room in each bedroom
for students to relax,
and enjoy their
training.
Large closets, plenty of
room to store your
items, and shared
kitchen, dining area and
living room complete the
indoor space. There is a
pleasant screened porch,
and lots of outdoor
spaces to enjoy as well. |
CHI House is non smoking, and we
ask that those who smoke do so
outside the basement area, in
order to not disturb other
students.
A Step Back in Time
When we created the
concept for CHI House,
Ted and I specifically
wanted our guests to
enjoy a step back in
time, and a way to
connect with nature. In
our very technological
world, we realized that
creating a place with
out WI-FI, without cable
or satellite tv, would
be a stretch for some
people. We wanted guests
to instead, listen to
birds, watch the clouds
and contemplate life
while on a quiet walk
through the woods or
along a country road.
Those who need the
internet can use this at
our main training
building Inner Strength
on our guest network.
But the retreat house
give everyone there a
chance to live without
those types of
electronic waves.
CHI house is on a well
and septic system, so we
also wanted people to
understand this, and
that we live in
conjunction with nature,
honoring it through
shorter showers and
being mindful of the
space. |

Getting to CHI House
There are two airports
that can be used. The
largest is the
Pittsburgh International
Airport.
There is also an the
Arnold Palmer airport in
Latrobe PA.
Both airports are about
1 - 1.5 hours away
(based on on traffic).
We are about 45 minutes
north east of downtown
Pittsburgh. We recommend
that you schedule a
shuttle or taxi service
prior to arriving at the
airport. Normal fees for
airport transportation
to the Leechburg area is
about $70 one way.
Byers Taxi is a
local service.
Our local town of
Leechburg offers some
lovely dining
experiences, as well as
in the towns of Sarver,
Saxonburg and Lower
Burrell.
Our local Grocery Store,
the Giant Eagle has a
larger organic food
section, and a deli
counter serving fresh
hot food. |
